What does the Communicator contain?

The d6 School Communicator includes all the information parents really need to know. News, calendar events, a photo gallery, timetables, contact list & links to useful resources. There are also critical alerts for news that just can’t wait.

My school already has a website and a newsletter - why do I need this too?

What do I get?

The School Communicator is a complete communication solution, and includes a desktop communicator customised for your school, a web-based administration system that allows you to update the content as and when you require, and sms integration for urgent messages. We'll even provide you with 800 installation cds to help you get started (additional cds can be ordered if required).

What does it cost?

Will it affect my IT infrastructure?

No. The d6 School Communicator is a hosted solution, which means we take care of all the back-end technology. There is no impact on your existing IT systems or infrastructure.

Who controls the information that parents see?

You do. Integrated workflow allows you to delegate responsibility to multiple teachers whilst still tightly controlling what they can publish. It's 100% up to you.

What if I need help?

d6 offers telephonic and email support to both parents and schools during normal business hours. Online support is available 24hrs a day.

I am not very technically minded, can I still use it?

The School Communicator has been specifically designed with non-technical users in mind. Neither parents, nor school content editors need any formal IT training. It's very user friendly and highly intuitive.

How do parents get the School Communicator onto their PCs?

They will receive an installation disc, which they upload onto their machine. It is compatible with most PC operating platforms, uses very little hard drive space (so it won't slow the machine down or affect its performance), is 100% virus free, and has a built in help system should they come unstuck.
